Philip Davenport has has practiced for 40 years in construction law and has been an adjudicator in NSW, Queensland and Victoria since the commencement of adjudication in those States. 

He is the author or co-author of 11 books on construction law. Those in print include Unjust Enrichment, 1997 Federation Press, Fundamentals of Building Contract Management, 2002 UNSW Press, Adjudication in the Building Industry, 2nd Edition 2004 Federation Press and Construction Claims, 2nd edition 2006, Federation Press.

Philip’s experience includes 5 years with city law firms, 15 years with NSW Public Works, 9 years as a part time referee on the NSW Building Disputes Tribunal and 10 years as a part time lecturer in the Faculty of the Built Environment, University of NSW. He has been a sole practitioner practicing exclusively in the field of construction law for the last 18 years.

Chief Adjudicator
and Trainer

The Department of Public Works and Services engaged Philip as a consultant to assist in the drafting and implementation of the NSW adjudication legislation. Philip is the chief adjudicator and trainer for Adjudicate Today and conducts the accreditation courses for NSW, Queensland and Victoria.
