Stuart is a civil engineer with a professional career spanning over 40 years in the building and construction industry, focused initially on engineering design, documentation and construction management. He then specialised in commercial dispute resolution for construction and goods & services procurement for the NSW Government, including in the application of mediation, expert determination, arbitration and litigation, and the development of new contracts and contract management systems, providing advice to government on procurement policy, legislation and practice [including the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999 (NSW)]. Stuart left his employment in the public sector in mid-2012 and has since become accredited as an Adjudicator under the security of payment Acts in NSW, Victoria, the ACT and is registered under the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 (Qld) and the Construction Contracts Act 2004 (WA), having completed more than 200 Adjudication Determinations/ Decisions to date. Stuart also delivers consulting services and training on tendering, construction contracts, co-operative contracting and risk management in the private and public sectors.
