The following is the definition of a business day provided by the Act.
business day means a day that is not—
(a) a Saturday or Sunday; or
(b) a day that is wholly or partly observed as a public holiday throughout Victoria; or
(c) a day during the period commencing on 22 December in any year and ending on 10 January in the following year
Accurate calculation of business days is extremely important. Miscalculation may cause an adjudication application to fail, or may disentitle a party to participate in the adjudication process.
To find a date after a certain number of business days, start at the date of service of a document and add Business Days (days that do not include Saturday, Sunday, Victoria public holiday or the days between 22 December and 10 January).
